According to Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) third edition of its Worldwide Educating for the Future Index 2019, New Zealand ranks third, following Finland and Norway. The index sets 16 indicators for evaluation from three aspects: education policy (weight 30%), teaching environment (weight 50%) and socioeconomic status (weight 20%). It assesses the effectiveness of education systems in preparing students for the demands of work and life in a rapidly changing landscape.

Also, regarding satisfaction, over 90% of parents in HSBC’s Expat Explorer survey say that the quality of New Zealand education is atleast ‘the same’ or even ‘better’ (50% of respondents) than at home. Nearly 70% of them say their children are more confident and well-rounded from their time spent living in New Zealand.
